Free Job Posts on Glassdoor and Indeed

Greenhouse Recruiting has integrations that can create free job posts automatically on Glassdoor and/or Indeed after setting your external job posts live. These can be configured at the bottom of each job post's edit page or when bulk editing external job posts.

In this article we will cover how to:

Note: It can sometimes take up to 48 hours for new posts or updates to appear on Glassdoor and Indeed.

Enable Free Job Post on Single Job

To enable a free job post on Glassdoor and/or Indeed, click All Jobs from your navigation bar and select a job from the subsequent list.

From the Job Dashboard, click Job Setup and navigate to Job Posts on the left-hand panel.

Click the Edit icon edit.png beside the Job Post you would like to submit to Glassdoor and/or Indeed.

From the Edit Job Post page, navigate to the Publish to Free Job Boards section and check the box(es) next to Glassdoor and/or Indeed to select. You will be prompted to provide a city that will be used to index the job. To mark the job post as a remote opportunity on Glassdoor or indeed, check the box next to Remote after selecting an associated location.

Note: Each of our job board partners requires a location to be selected in order to create a free job post, including for remote opportunities. To learn more about marking third-party job posts as remote, please click here.

When finished, click Save. Once the job post is online, the job's information will be sent to Glassdoor and/or Indeed, where our partners use it to create your ads.

Note: Click the following links for questions on how Glassdoor and/or Indeed promote your job posts.

If the job post is later edited or taken offline, the checkboxes next to Glassdoor and/or Indeed will be de-selected, and the ads on these sites will be updated to reflect the content and status of your job post in Greenhouse Recruiting.

Refresh a Free Job Post on Glassdoor and/or Indeed

These sites can be a great resource for new candidates when your job posts are first posted online, but over time your ads become stale and are far less visible than newer posts.

Because Indeed and Glassdoor offer sponsored posts for better positioning on their site, it is not possible to repost a job ad in Greenhouse Recruiting to generate a new ad on Indeed or Glassdoor. Taking the post down and then reactivating it or closing and reopening the job will simply resurrect the stale job post from before rather than creating a new one. These sites also have filters that check for similar job titles and descriptions to hide duplicates, so creating a new job in order to generate a new ad is likely to fail as well.
