Note: An updated version of the Greenhouse Recruiting / ZipRecruiter integration that requires less manual configuration is now available. For the most current version of the ZipRecruiter integration, please click here.
If your organization is enabling the ZipRecruiter integration for the first time, we recommend enabling the updated integration rather than the version outlined in this article.
ZipRecruiter is a web-based platform that streamlines the hiring process by enabling companies to post a job to 100+ job boards with a single click. By providing a central location for finding and screening, ZipRecruiter helps employers make the best hiring decisions quickly and at a fraction of the cost of traditional job boards.
Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with ZipRecruiter allows your organization to push jobs on your job board(s) to the ZipRecruiter platform and track any inbound candidates as a result of the integration. In this article, we will cover:
Note: The Greenhouse/ZipRecruiter integration is free to use and accessible to any ZipRecruiter account level.
Configure User Setup Permissions in Greenhouse Recruiting
In order to enable the Greenhouse/ZipRecruiter integration, you will need the developer permission Can manage Job Board related API Credentials.
Contact a Greenhouse user in your organization with Site Admin level permissions with the additional user-specific permission Can edit another user's advanced permissions to apply the API credential management permission to your account. Have the user with Site Admin level permissions edit your user account's permissions by navigating to the Configure icon > Users > Your Name.
The user with Site Admin level permissions should navigate to the Permissions panel on your user page and expand the Developer Permissions dropdown menu.
Select Can manage Job Board related API Credentials so that a check is in the checkbox. When finished, click Save.
Create Job Board API Key for Greenhouse/ZipRecruiter Integration
To create a Job Board API key for the integration, click on the Configure icon in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel.
From the Dev Center page, click API Credential Management.
From the API Credential Management page, click Create New API Key to generate the API key for ZipRecruiter.
From the Create new credential dialog box, give your API key a name and select Job Board from the Type dropdown menu. When finished, click Create.

A job board tracking link allows your organization to track the source of candidates entering your system via the integration.
Click the ellipsis on the navigation bar and select Sourcing from the dropdown menu.
Navigate to the Job Boards panel under the Market Your Jobs header. Click the ellipsis inline with a specific job board that will be used with the integration.
Click Tracking Link from the dropdown menu.
From the subsequent dialog box, select ZipRecruiter from the Select a source dropdown menu and click Create Link.
When finished, click Copy.
Send the copied job board tracking link to your ZipRecruiter Account Coordinator.
That's it! Your organization's Greenhouse Recruiting integration with ZipRecruiter is complete.
Note: Once the integration is enabled, applicants accessing your organization's job post via the ZipRecruiter platform will see the ZipRecruiter interface rather than be redirected to your careers page.
