Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with TextRecruit allows users to select candidate statuses in Greenhouse Recruiting that should trigger a text message to be sent from within TextRecruit. When the selected stage change occurs in Greenhouse Recruiting, the data regarding the event is sent to TextRecruit.TextRecruit then uses the Greenhouse Recruiting ID for the event to prompt an automated text message to the candidate. TextRecruit’s customer success manager will work with users to create these automated text message templates. The messages are visible to the user in their TextRecruit Inbox, and in their Greenhouse Recruiting Integration Events Log. Within TextRecruit, these messages will be tagged with a Greenhouse Recruiting flag to distinguish them as part of the automated integration.

Configure User Setup Permissions in Greenhouse Recruiting

In order to enable the Greenhouse Recruiting / TextRecruit integration, you will need the developer permission Can manage and configure web hooks.

Contact a Greenhouse user in your organization with Site Admin level permissions with the additional user-specific permission Can edit another user's advanced permissions to apply the web hooks management permission to your account. Have the user with Site Admin level permissions edit your user account's permissions by navigating to the Configure icon Configure.png > Users > Your Name.

The user with Site Admin level permissions should navigate to the Permissions panel on your user page and expand the Developer Permissions dropdown menu. 

Select Can manage and configure web hooks so that a check is in the checkbox. When finished, click Save.

Repeat as necessary for any other user that should have access to set up the integration.

 

Retrieve TextRecruit's Endpoint URL and Secret Key

Before enabling the Greenhouse Recruiting / TextRecruit integration, Greenhouse Recruiting will need two pieces of information: 

  • TextRecruit’s Endpoint URL
  • TextRecruit’s Secret Key

To retrieve this information, please contact TextRecruit Customer Success. Once you have both of those items, complete the following steps to link your accounts.

 

Enable Greenhouse Recruiting / TextRecruit Integration

With TextRecruit’s endpoint URL and Secret Key copied, and your Greenhouse Recruiting user permissions enabled, you are ready to enable the Greenhouse Recruiting / TextRecruit integration.

To enable the integration, click the Configure icon Configure.png in the upper right-hand corner and navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel.

From the Dev Center page, click Web Hooks. Click Web Hooks from the subsequent page.

You will be directed to the Create a New Web Hook page. From this page, provide the following details:

  • Name: We suggest TextRecruit
  • When: Be sure to select the right web hook so that the web hook fires at the appropriate event in Greenhouse Recruiting [Candidate has changed stage]
  • Endpoint URL: The Endpoint URL received from the TextRecruit Customer Success team
  • Secret Key: The Secret Key received from the TextRecruit Customer Success team

When finished, click Create Web hook.

That is it! Your Greenhouse Recruiting account and TextRecruit account can now talk to each other. 

 

Configure TextRecruit Settings

Log into the TextRecruit platform and navigate to Settings in the upper-right corner. Greenhouse Recruiting will be listed under Connected Applications. Click Configure

Your TextRecruit Customer Success Manager will help you configure the message templates for Greenhouse Recruiting in this section. As the events come in from Greenhouse Recruiting, they will appear in the table at the bottom of the page. This reference allows you to confirm the integration is working properly. Additionally, this section will display if a message were to fail, and would provide information explaining why the message failed.

Note: TextRecruit's Customer Success Managers will help users learn how to add new Greenhouse Recruiting candidates to TextRecruit using the TextRecruit Chrome extension or a .csv file upload.
